All the Study Snacks you need for Finals
With finals around the corner, it's time to start thinking about your study timetable, but also how you're going to stock your cupboards.

My ultimate study snack list:
I definitely have a sweet tooth, but it's important to remember that your brain needs real food to function. These are some of the healthier things that I like to stock up on before exams...
popcorn (I like popcorn because it's dry & easy to eat while working)
dried berries
trail mix
Pretzels (not so healthy, but super tasty)
Chicken Noodle Cup-A-Soup (especially for studying on cold winter days)
Rice crackers
Fresh fruit
Ham, cheese & other lunchables
Tortilla chips & guacamole or salsa
Cucumber, red pepper & carrots with cream cheese
and of course, LOTS of tea & coffee (I like to keep some caffeine free teas, like rooibos, for when I'm studying late at night)
Chewy Choc-Chip Recipe:
I drink a ton of tea & coffee when I'm studying, so it's sometimes nice to have some cookies to go with that. Here is the recipe for my favorite 'study' cookies...
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped milk chocolate (I like the Cadbury's milk chocolate for this recipe)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Method:
Preheat the oven to 190C. Add all of the ingredients (except for the chocolate chips & walnuts) to a large mixing bowl. Beat with a mixer at medium speed. When the cookie dough is combined, mix in the chopped chocolate & nuts by hand. Drop rounded teaspoons of the mixture 5cm apart on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes until just golden & then cool on a wire rack.
